Days Ago Calculator
Find the calendar date a chosen number of days before today, or before any reference date you pick.
How this calculator works
This calculator reconstructs a past calendar date by counting backward from today — or any reference date you set — by the number of days entered. For example, 60 days before a reference date of 2026-03-01 was 2025-12-31.
The reconstructed date arrives with its own weekday and ISO form, how many full weeks and leftover days separate it from the reference point, the equivalent hour count, and a two-month calendar view — enough detail to confirm a remembered date without doing the arithmetic by hand.
Adjusting the reference date or day count keeps the address bar in sync with a shareable link, handy for pointing someone at exactly how a past date was reconstructed — like the forward version on Days From Today, this link creates no separate indexed page.
The tool is arithmetic only. Where legal, payroll, holiday, timezone or jurisdiction-specific rules matter, the page states what is and is not included.
Frequently asked questions
Does it account for leap years?
Yes. Calendar arithmetic uses real date boundaries, including February 29 where applicable.
Can I look back from a date other than today?
Yes — set the reference date to any point in time, such as a specific anniversary, and the day count still counts backward from that chosen date. "Use today" returns the reference date to today in one click.
Can I cite this past date elsewhere?
Yes — "Copy result" copies a text summary and a shareable link, handy for pasting the reconstructed date into a document, email or ticket. "Download calendar file (.ics)" is also available if you want the date marked on a calendar. Nothing is stored on our side either way.
