Privacy
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Whatever you type into a calculator — dates, times, durations — is used only to compute the result on your own device; it is not automatically uploaded to or stored by us. No account is required.
Some tools let you copy a result, download a file, or print the page. Each of these only happens when you explicitly choose it — none of them run automatically. Copy writes the copied text to your device's own clipboard, the same way copying from any other website or app works. Downloading a file — for example, a calendar (.ics) file or a CSV — saves it to your device, wherever your browser puts downloads. Printing, where your browser and device support it, can create a paper or PDF copy. In every case the result goes to your own device, clipboard, printer or PDF viewer — not to us.
Analytics and advertising are intentionally disabled. This site sets no cookies and makes no requests to third-party analytics or advertising services. This page will be updated before either is ever enabled, to describe the actual services, cookies, data flows and choices involved.
What's stored in your browser
A few tools save small preferences directly in your browser's local storage, so they remember your settings the next time you open the page:
- World Clock saves the cities you've added and their order, your 12/24-hour choice, each clock's display style, and your fullscreen theme, under the key
dhc:world-clock:v1. - Stopwatch saves only your fullscreen theme and size choice, under its own key.
- The Countdown Timer, Meeting Timer, Presentation Timer, Classroom Timer and Study Timer — five pages built on the same underlying timer — also save only a fullscreen theme and size choice, but all five share one key: choosing a theme or size on any one of these pages carries over to the other four. None of the five saves the running timer itself, its duration, or any stage setup — closing or reloading any of them always resets that.
None of this is an account, a server-side profile, or an analytics identifier — it never leaves your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no access to it. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings, which resets those tools back to their defaults. Every other calculator on this site — everything not named above — stores nothing between visits.
Map and Globe view
World Clock's optional Map and Globe views are loaded only when you open them — not on an ordinary visit to the page. Opening either one requests map style, tile and font (glyph) resources from OpenFreeMap (operated by Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary), the same way any request to a web server involves your browser sending it ordinary technical request data. We do not operate OpenFreeMap and do not control what it does with that data; its own Privacy Policy states that it does not use cookies, does not require an account, and does not log IP addresses except temporarily during a security investigation. The list of cities you can search for is a separate, fixed dataset (derived from GeoNames) that we host ourselves as part of this site — searching it does not contact GeoNames or any other third party.
This site is hosted on Vercel. Reaching this site at all necessarily means your device sends a request to Vercel's servers, and web hosting inherently involves processing basic technical data about that request — your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and similar request and infrastructure log data — the same way any web server works. This happens purely to operate the site, keep it secure and reliable, and diagnose technical problems; it is not used to build a profile of you or track you across other sites. Because Vercel operates a global hosting network, this technical data may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in the United States. We do not separately collect, store or have direct access to these hosting-level logs beyond what Vercel provides as part of its hosting service.
Vercel's dashboard lets us view runtime request logs for a limited window — currently one hour on the hosting tier this site runs on, per Vercel's own documentation (correct as of August 2026, and something Vercel can change on its side without notice to us). That figure describes how long we can browse those particular logs in Vercel's dashboard — it is not the full length of time Vercel processes or retains IP addresses, traffic, security or other infrastructure data behind the scenes. Vercel's own Privacy Notice states its general retention principle instead: it keeps information "for the minimum necessary period to fulfill [its] legal and contractual obligations ... resolve disputes, enforce [its] rights, [and] for legitimate business purposes," deleting or anonymizing it once there is no ongoing legitimate need — without committing to one fixed number of days for every category of data. We do not set or control that retention ourselves.
Your rights
We are the data controller for this site under Switzerland's Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) — including for the hosting we outsource to Vercel. Per the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner's (FDPIC) own guidance on outsourced data processing, a controller remains responsible for data protection when it hands processing to a sub-contractor, and remains the point of contact for a data subject's request even where the sub-contractor holds the data. If we hold any personal data connected with you — for example, an email you send to one of the addresses below, or the Vercel hosting logs described above — you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used. Email privacy@dayshourscalculator.com with your request; we will handle it as controller and coordinate with Vercel where the request concerns data Vercel processes on our behalf, subject to applicable law and any legitimate retention obligations Vercel or we are subject to. Under the FADP we aim to respond within 30 days; if a request genuinely needs more time, we will tell you and give a revised timeframe before that 30 days is up. We cannot promise one specific deletion outcome for every piece of infrastructure data Vercel holds on our behalf, but the request remains ours to answer — not something we treat as out of our hands.
