How this calculator works
Opens with two stages — Talk (15 minutes) and Q&A (5 minutes) — so the time reserved for questions is visible from the start instead of being whatever's left over. Edit either duration, or add stages for a longer session.
Stage changes are manual by default: running long on the talk shows OVERTIME rather than cutting straight into Q&A time, so the speaker or moderator decides exactly when to switch.
Warning thresholds (5 and 2 minutes by default) give a speaker fair notice before each stage ends, and fullscreen mode shows a large, clean display for the podium or a confidence monitor.
The tool is arithmetic only. Where legal, payroll, holiday, timezone or jurisdiction-specific rules matter, the page states what is and is not included.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reserve time for Q&A?
Yes — the default template already splits the session into a Talk stage and a separate Q&A stage, each with its own duration, so the time for questions is set aside rather than left as an afterthought.
What happens if my talk runs overtime?
The display switches to OVERTIME and counts up instead of auto-advancing into Q&A, so the speaker or moderator can see exactly how far over and choose when to move on with a "Next stage" click.
Can I use this in fullscreen on a second monitor or projector?
Yes. Fullscreen mode enlarges the current stage, its remaining time and any warning or overtime state for a podium display, confidence monitor or projector.
